Lesson 2-
Revolutionary War Unit
In this lesson we will look at the beginnings of the Revolution. We will start with the First Continental Congress. Students will create a timeline as a class of the major events in the Revolution. This timeline will be used for the entire Unit, and will be constantly updated by the class. We will examine the value of timelines with remembering specific dates and events. By creating a timeline students will have a visual representation to reference when studying the Revolution. The timeline will include pictures of events and people as they correspond to the specific date. The timeline we will create as a class will be a collaborative effort all students will be required to participate in by inserting pictures and descriptions. The value of the timeline will be a visual representation, and engagement in creation. By having the students all help in the creation of the timeline, students will be more involved in the learning of major events of the Revolution.
